Unlike other car donation programs, we can give you the FULL fair-market value of your car, giving you the maximum possible tax deduction. And we do not lock you into one preferred charity – whether you want to support your local church, firefighters, or a national children’s organization, we put the choice back in your hands.

Is Charity Motors a tax deductible organization?

Yes! We are recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 organization, which is what enables us to give you a full fair market value receipt for a tax deduction.

How do I donate my car?

Donating your car is easy – start by filling out the donation form or contacting one of our live representatives by calling or starting a chat and we’ll take care of the rest!

What happens to my car once I donate it?

Once you donate your car, we issue a receipt for the full fair-market value of your vehicle. Then we sell your car at 50% discount so that low-income individuals and families can have access to transportation. It’s a win-win!

Do I have to pick a charity from your list?

No! Unlike other car donation companies, Charity Motors lets you pick your own charity from anywhere in the United States.

Vehicle Donation Process

What kinds of vehicles can I donate?

We accept a variety of vehicles such as boats, ORVs, RVs, camper trailers, box trucks, buses, motorhomes, motorcycles, and MORE!

Can I donate a car that doesn’t run?

Yes, you can donate cars that are no longer running.

Can I donate a car without a title?

You need your title as proof of ownership. Once you provide us with your title, we can take care of all the hard work of transferring your title after you donate your car!

Can I make multiple donations?

Yes! We’re happy to accept as many vehicles as you would like to donate.

What states can I donate a car in?

We offer free pickup and towing in all 48 contiguous states – to request your pickup, fill out our donation form or contact one of our representatives by phone or via live chat.

Will I get written confirmation of my donation?

Yes! We will issue you a donation letter and a 1098-C receipt that you can use to get a deduction on your taxes.

How do I schedule a pickup?

Where can you pick up my car?

We can pick up your car from any location you’d like – whether that be your home, workplace, or repair shop. As long as you have the title, we’re happy to come to you.

How long does pickup take?

We will have our tow company reach out within 1-2 days to schedule pick up convenient to your schedule.

Tax Deduction Questions

Will I get a tax deduction?

Yes! When you donate your car to Charity Motors, we will give you a receipt allowing you to deduct the full fair-market value of your car from your taxes.

How big of a tax deduction can I claim for donating my car?

You can deduct the full fair-market value of your vehicle. We recommend that donors use Kelley Blue Book (Private Party Value), as a guide. We also recommend that all donors speak with a tax professional before claiming the deduction on their taxes.
