For three consecutive years Charity Motors has donated $50,000 to ten
local charities, said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, who called a
press conference to announce the donations of $5,000 of each recipient, compliments
of Charity Motors. The County Executive was asked to select the charities because
he is aware of the needs of the community, said Carl Collins, president and CEO of
Charity Motors. The Charity recipients are (1) Vietnam Veterans of America, (2)
The Salvation Army of North Oakland County, (3) Child Abuse and Neglect Council
of Oakland County, (4) Food Bank of Oakland County, (5) Leader Dogs for the Blind,
(6) Lighthouse of Oakland County, (7) Michigan Association of Leadership Development,
(8) Pontiac Rescue Mission, (9) Promise Village Home for Children, (10) The Rainbow
Connection.

Charity Motors was a major event sponsor for the Alzheimer's Association's
Chocolate Jubilee at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dearborn. The fundraiser,
chaired by Ayme Makupson of UPN Channel 50, bought together other generous
sponsors and supporters of Alzheimer's Association programs. Representatives
of all metro Detroit TV stations were in attendance to support this worthwhile
cause. It's always a pleasure saying "yes" to the Alzheimer's Association
and equally rewarding to share in the scrumptious chocolates provided for
guests.

Michigan Humane Society Telethon 2001, which aired on
UPN 50 in January, was successful with the support of Charity Motors and
other sponsors. Rick Frazier, Charity Motors consultant, presents host Ayme
Makupson with a check for $30,000. Michigan Humane Society supporters can
help MHS throughout the year. Donating vehicles to Charity Motors and
specifying the Michigan Humane Society, as the recipient of their donation
will mean more money to help feed, shelter and care for animals protected
by the MHS.
